Christopher Hojny

I am an assistant professor at Eindhoven University of Technology within the group Combinatorial Optimization, working in the field of mixed-integer programming.

Research focus

A central theme of my research is understanding how structural properties of optimization problems can be exploited to obtain stronger formulations and more efficient solution methods. My research focus is on

• developing advanced modeling and algorithmic techniques, with a particular emphasis on symmetry handling in mixed-integer programs;
• addressing both problem-specific structures and the design of methods that improve the performance of general-purpose MIP solvers;
• co-developing the open-source solver SCIP, one of the leading frameworks for constraint integer programming.
